The STOP & THINK card is designed to alert people to the risks that can arise during work. The card contains focus points with safety alerts, based on a risk analysis of 300 accidents. The STOP & THINK card was developed by Uniper, and circulated among all the companies working for Uniper.
The key 6 points safety focus points are on the green side of the card:
- Am I aware of the risks of the work?
- Have I been informed of the risks, and can I see any other risks?
- Has a safe working procedure been discussed with me?
- Am I using the right tools and resources?
- Am I using the right PPE?
- Is the working environment suitable for me to work safely?
The main point of using a STOP & THINK card is to initiate dialogue between you and the person setting the work if you have any doubts about the safety of the work situation.
