Smokingrules

Uniper Maasvlakte Smoking Rules

Uniper is against smoking, and informs others that it can be harmful to health and ultimately fatal.

Smoke breaks

Smoking is allowed during office hours* from:

10:00 to 10:15,

12:00 to 12:30,

14:45 to 15:00.

No smoking is allowed on the site outside these hours.

Principles of the smoking rules

The basic principle of the smoking rules is a total ban on smoking in the workplace. The Tobacco Act states that employers must protect employees from tobacco smoke,

so smoking in the building is forbidden, both inside and outside working areas.

  1. Smoking ban
Smoking is forbidden throughout the entire site and in all buildings. The smoking ban applies to all working areas, as well as other areas such as the lobby, corridors, canteen and toilets. The smoking ban applies to everybody on the Uniper site, including staff, hired staff, and visitors.
  2. Smoking areas
Smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking areas. Cigarette butts and other waste must be cleaned up.

Support with quitting smoking

Uniper supports employees who are actively trying to quit smoking. Any employee who wants to quit smoking and requires support can let his or her manager know.

Appropriate measures will be taken in the event of non-compliance with the above rules.

* Smoking is allowed outside office hours, after consultation with a manager.
